"Working with Erik has truly been life changing. When I met him one year ago, I was at the heaviest weight I had ever been, unhappy with the way I felt and looked, and feeling completely hopeless. I had a long list of activities that I had always wanted to do (snowboarding, rock climbing, earn my black belt, etc.) but had always been prevented by my weight. "I started training with Erik 1 year and 3 months ago hoping but not expecting more than a diversion to my 9-5 life. My training began with a one simple question...what do you want? With a smile and a sigh my response was to look as I did in my prime - 20 years ago.

Long story short it took me just over a year to hit this goal (double digit sizes to low single numbers and toned). I am having so much fun working with Erik my goal has now expanded to see how much I am capable of and he has been more than up to the task.

"My weight loss journey with Erik began in November 2013. I lost about 45 pounds before that, but realized that just changing my nutrition wasn’t enough and I had to get active in order to keep losing. I joined a gym and signed up for a personal trainer. I tried out a couple different trainers before I found Erik.

My goals when I started training were to increase my: balance, core strength, all-around physical strength and endurance;as well as to lose more weight. (My weight loss goal was to lose another 85 pounds, then to reassess.) I have Multiple Sclerosis, so working towards and attaining these goals will not only help be become a stronger, healthier version of myself; but may also become imperativeto my quality of life in the future. So….it was time to get movin’!

Now, 2 ½ years later I am still working with Erik and loving it. He makes it so I don’t hate working out; it’s even enjoyable (maybe...fun??)! Erik incorporates a variety of techniques and exercises so that our workouts don’t get boring. He uses a mix of equipment and differentiates the exercise routines in order to keep me interested, to work different parts of the body, and to teach me new ways to move my body. We have done things like used TRX, boxing, free weights, trained outside, swinging a sledge hammer, obstacle courses, yoga, stretching, and the list goes on. It’s always interesting, and every workout works a different part of your body; so you see results all over, not just isolated areas.

Since working with Erik, I have lost 71 pounds (for a total of 116)…And I’m not done yet! Erik’s training and support is helping me reach (and surpass) my goals! He is not just great with the physical aspect of training, but he is extremely motivational and inspirational. I have referred several friends and co-workers to Erik because he tailors innovativeworkouts and training programs to individual needs.
